A partner in the firm’s Tax, Trusts & Estates Practice Group, Sonny Nunes has experience in the federal and state tax aspects of corporate and joint venture transactions. He works closely with attorneys in the firm's corporate and general business practices in structuring acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures. Mr. Nunes also works closely with attorneys in the firm's general business section in structuring transactions driven by federal and state income tax credits, including federal and state new market credits, federal and state rehabilitation tax credits, and state motion picture investor tax credits. He works with attorneys in the firm's public finance practice in structuring tax-exempt municipal financings. Mr. Nunes has experience representing taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, the Louisiana Department of Revenue, and local tax authorities.
