Bob Tucker is a partner in the firm’s Business & Finance Practice Group, concentrating in the area of intellectual property, including patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright law, as well as technology management and other business and technical matters. He has for more than 20 years engaged in all aspects of intellectual property law practice, including the following: preparation and prosecution of patent applications covering a wide variety of inventions; patent infringement and validity studies; trademark availability searches; the preparation and filing of trademark applications; trademark infringement studies, negotiating, drafting, and providing consultation regarding intellectual property licenses and assignments; due diligence relating to the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property; and litigation of infringement lawsuits involving patent, trade secret, unfair competition, trademark, and other technical issues.
Prior to his career as an attorney, Mr. Tucker practiced as a registered professional engineer, managing both engineering and construction firms.
Mr. Tucker is a frequent lecturer at Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, and at numerous business and education seminars on intellectual property, technology management, and other business and technical subjects.
Mr. Tucker is active in Baton Rouge civic and charitable organizations. He is a member of the board of directors, and currently serves as chairman of the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. He has served as President and a member of the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge. He served as a member of the original steering committee for the preparation of Baton Rouge’s 20-year plan, the Horizon Plan, and served as chairman of the Horizon Plan Implementation Committee. He served on several Baton Rouge Bar Association committees, and as chairman of the Baton Rouge Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service.
Mr. Tucker is a member of the American, Louisiana State, and Baton Rouge Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
