NEW ORLEANS—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that partner J. Kelly Duncan has been elected Vice-President of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL).
Mr. Duncan, who leads the firm's gaming practice and is a member of Jones Walker's board of directors, is a member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys as well as IMGL. Since the passage of legislation in Louisiana in the early 1990s authorizing video poker, riverboat gaming, the land based casinos, and racinos, he has been integrally involved in the representation of major casino companies, manufacturers, suppliers, and financial institutions regarding all matters relating to the development, financing, and operation of such facilities.
Notably, Mr. Duncan is listed among the world's top gaming attorneys in the 2009 edition of Chambers Global Guide. Mr. Duncan was one of only nine gaming attorneys from the United States listed by Chambers & Partners as a notable practitioner in the area of Gaming & Gambling.
IMGL is a nonprofit association dedicated to education and the advancement of the gaming law profession, and to establishing an exchange of professional information about the local and global practice and development of gaming law. Membership is by invitation only. Jones Walker associate Kenneth S. Steely, of the firm's Mobile, Ala. office, was invited to join IMGL earlier this year.
