Several federal agencies recently announced efforts that will serve all sectors of the offshore wind industry, furthering the goal to deploy 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy capacity by 2030. Some highlights include the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) proposing the first-ever offshore wind lease sale in the Gulf of Mexico, expansion of the Federal-State Offshore Wind Implementation Partnership, and the Department of Energy leading other executive agencies to spur investment in the development of new offshore wind technologies.
