Partners on the state and local tax team, including Jay Adams, Alysse McLoughlin, and Katie Quinn, presented at the 2024 Council on State Taxation (COST) SALT Workshop for Technology Companies in Cupertino, California August 14–16, 2024. Jay's panel presentation "Update on State Legislation" discussed developments and predictions for state legislation regarding technology, and offered strategies for business owners and tax payers to utilize when advocating for fewer state and local taxes. Alysse's panel presentation "State Tax Implications of Pillar Two for Multinational Companies" covered the potential impacts of the OECD's Pillar Two global minimum tax . Katie's first panel presentation "Where is Your Purchaser (Sourcing) and Why is Obtaining More Information of Increasing Importance" discussed the challenges businesses face in complying with state sourcing requirements for income and sales tax. Her second presentation, "Ask the Experts," featured a question and answer session with a panel of state and local tax practitioners, followed by their predictions for upcoming trends in the technology industry.
