On December 4, 2018, the Vessel Incidental Discharge Act (VIDA) of 2018 (P.L. 115-282) was enacted. As previously noted, VIDA rescinded the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Small Vessel General Permit and generally transferred regulations under EPA’s Vessel General Permit (VGP) for incidental discharges from larger vessels to a new regulatory regime to be primarily enforced by the US Coast Guard. Continue reading >
