Andy St. Romain is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group and maintains an active practice advising clients on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial real estate matters.
Andy handles matters related to oil and gas leasing and infrastructure, mixed-use, and other retail development. He regularly drafts and negotiates purchase, lease, development, and financing agreements, conducts title examinations for issuance of owner and loan title insurance policies, and has been involved in the preparation of oil and gas title opinions, as well as due diligence aspects of producing property acquisitions. He also counsels clients on business structure and formations, including corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and other entities. He regularly serves as local counsel for out-of-state developers that acquire and develop commercial and industrial sites in Louisiana.
Andy advises clients on the full range of residential, commercial, and industrial real estate issues, including in connection with acquisitions, development, planning, management, and dispositions, and conducts and oversees due diligence for property and asset acquisitions. He has extensive experience negotiating purchase, lease, and development agreements, and advising on commercial developments for national retailers and local developers. He also handles land use and zoning matters for commercial and industrial sites, as well as traditional neighborhood developments.
In the financing arena, Andy represents developers and lenders in commercial real estate investments, financings, refinancings, and preparation of private-party loan documents. He also has experience representing clients before planning commissions and city councils. In addition, he has served as borrower's counsel for HUD-financed transactions and as local counsel for national title insurance companies.
Andy is a licensed CPA with prior tax and governmental audit experience. He serves as an adjunct professor at the Southern University Law Center, where he teaches classes ranging from sales and leases to special problems in real estate transactions. Andy volunteers his time in the form of pro bono work and through service on the board of directors for a local nonprofit organization.
