Christopher Hinsley is a real estate and finance partner in the Corporate Practice Group. His practice includes coordinating, negotiating, and closing a wide variety of commercial financings and transactions, including multifamily and affordable housing transactions, as well as resolution of complex title and land use issues.
Chris has extensive experience representing institutional and non-traditional lenders, real estate investment firms, corporations, developers, lessees/lessors, and high-net-worth individuals in a wide range of commercial and residential real estate, finance, acquisition, disposition, and restructuring/distressed asset transactions in the state of Florida, as well as throughout the United States and internationally.
Chris works with all types of real estate and real estate-related collateral, including unimproved and agricultural lands, residential properties, condominiums, multifamily apartments, assisted living facilities, marinas, submerged lands, mixed-use facilities, shopping centers, offices, industrial buildings, power plants, foreign properties, and non-real estate corporate assets.
In addition, Chris represents acquirers and investors, as lead counsel, in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and financing of affordable housing and senior housing, which representation requires significant state and federal affordable housing regulatory experience and work with low-income housing tax credits.
Chris’ experience includes all manner of real estate financings and acquisitions, including multifamily lending, condominium finance, ground leasehold transactions, construction loans and development projects, residential lending, loan participations, multi-jurisdictional and foreign transactions, and mezzanine financing. He has significant experience in commercial leasing arrangements, service, management, and construction contracts, corporate filings and agreements, local counsel opinions, zoning and entitlement issues, and purchase and sale negotiations.
With respect to the restructuring and management of distressed assets, Chris assists clients with the negotiation and implementation of forbearance arrangements and similar foreclosure-related restructurings, stipulated settlements, sales of loan assets, REO property sales, deed in lieu transactions, loan modifications, bankruptcy-related workouts, lease negotiations, and other credit modification and property management activities.
