Alex Steadman is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and a member of the bankruptcy and restructuring team.
Alex focuses his practice on bankruptcy and restructuring law, representing both creditors and debtors in complex bankruptcy matters across a multitude of industries. He is well versed in several areas of bankruptcy law, including handling creditor collection matters in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, ensuring his clients’ interests are protected. As an attorney for the debtor in Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters, Alex represents business owners during restructuring efforts and his strategic guidance helps clients navigate complex financial landscapes.
Alex also has extensive experience assisting clients with the legal complexities involved in winding down operations outside bankruptcy. He is experienced in addressing fraudulent transfers within bankruptcy cases, providing critical support to clients seeking to recover assets. Alex has extensive bankruptcy appellate experience, working on appeals involving bankruptcy issues in various federal courts, including the US Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (specifically, the Fifth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuits) and the US Supreme Court.
Alex is a graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law, where he received his juris doctor degree summa cum laude. His commitment to excellence is reflected through his receipt of the Dean M. Leigh Harrison Award, given to the top 5% of the class.
