Jeffrey King is special counsel in the Litigation Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation, including government contracts, construction, antitrust, intellectual property, and employment disputes. He also advises on corporate transactions and legislative and regulatory developments.
Jeff has more than 45 years of experience in advising on and litigating complex lawsuits, with a focus on construction, contracts, employment, antitrust, and intellectual property. He has recovered over $300 million for government contract underpayments, defended employers on wage and hour claims, won millions of dollars for clients in breach of contract suits, successfully defended clients in antitrust litigation, and tried numerous other claims in federal and state court. He regularly advises clients on employment, contract, construction, corporate, and antitrust issues. Jeff serves as general counsel for the World Floor Covering Association and other trade associations, where his duties include overseeing the legislative and regulatory program.
Jeff is a frequent lecturer on construction issues and has taught law, ethics, and risk management at the Graduate Business School at George Washington University. He has authored numerous articles on legal issues impacting the construction industry and writes a regular column in Premier Flooring Retailer. Jeff has written six books on legal issues, including The Independent Contractor: Understanding the Rules and a Model Contract, Contracts: Cannot Live Without Them, and Green Flooring: A Step-by-Step Guide World Floor Covering. He also contributed to New Developments in Green Construction, Construction Dispute Resolution, and Convention Industry Convention Manual.
