Mia Hughes is an associate on the Construction Team.
Mia represents a broad range of clients within the construction industry, including owners, general contractors, design-build contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Her practice focuses on the arbitration and litigation of large construction and infrastructure project disputes related to a variety of issues including breach of contract, delay, lost productivity and disruption, and construction defect matters. Mia has a wealth of experience in many aspects of discovery and trial preparation, including performing legal research, conducting briefing and motions practice, and preparing documents for mediation, depositions, and presentation at trial. Mia also offers her clients practical advice during contract performance to help avoid claims in the first instance.
While earning her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, Mia served as a judicial extern to Justice Charles J. Bethel of the Supreme Court of Georgia, as an extern at the US Trustee Program, and as an extern at the Capital Assistance Project.
