Marisa Del Turco is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Energy, Environmental & Natural Resources Industry Team.
Marisa focuses her practice in the areas of environmental and energy litigation, and regulatory compliance. She has particular experience working with businesses engaged in the extraction, production, storage, and distribution of oil and gas, as well as power derived from wind, solar, and other renewable sources.
Marisa has experience with the broad range of federal laws and regulations that directly and indirectly affect the energy and industrial sectors, including the Administrative Procedure Act; the Clean Air Act; the Clean Water Act; the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act; and the Endangered Species Act, as well as numerous state and local environmental statutes. She also represents clients before government agencies, agency officials, and other federal, state, and local administrative bodies such as the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.
In her portfolio of cases relating to her work representing chemical, manufacturing, and industrial companies, Marisa is a part of a team representing a major company in matters concerning the Clean Air Act and Louisiana air control regulations. Marisa is also a key member of a trial team representing a major company in a mass joinder action, having firsthand experience in trial proceedings. Additionally, she has participated in and defended clients in class action-related matters, particularly analyzing procedures and the prerequisites for class action certification. Moreover, in her counseling practice, Marisa conducts environmental due diligence and contract analyses with respect to major corporate transactions and agreements.
She routinely monitors and provides updates about changes to environmental regulations and the constantly evolving challenges of the energy, natural resources, and environmental fields. In addition to writing numerous client alerts, Marisa was a contributor to the “Trends & Developments” section of Chambers and Partners’ Environmental Global Practice Guide.
In addition to her energy and environmental work, Marisa often collaborates with various teams and practices within the firm, acquiring experience across diverse industries and honing her proficiency in various general civil litigation skills.
