Stephanie Cooksey is an associate on the Construction Team.
Stephanie represents construction clients in a variety of litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes. She advocates for contractors, design professionals, general contractors, and subcontractors in a range of matters involving claims for delay, acceleration, scope changes, and nonpayment. Stephanie’s practice focuses on large construction and infrastructure project disputes related to a variety of issues, including breach of contract, delay, lost productivity and disruption, and construction defect matters.
She has a wealth of experience in many aspects of discovery and trial preparation, including performing legal research; conducting briefing and motions practice; and preparing documents for mediation, depositions, and presentation at trial. Stephanie also offers her clients practical advice during contract performance to help avoid claims in the first instance.
She earned her juris doctor from South Texas College of Law and her bachelor of arts in philosophy from University of St. Thomas. During law school, Stephanie served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Davis in the 270th Civil District Court of Harris County, Texas.
