Jimmie Percy is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group.
Jimmie has a broad-based litigation practice that encompasses complex litigation involving business and commercial transactions, environmental and toxic torts, catastrophic injuries, police liability, municipal liability, state and local tax issues, as well as all aspects of insurance coverage disputes. He has extensive experience in oil and gas and pipeline-related litigation, including disputes involving expropriation of right of way for natural gas, crude oil, and liquids pipelines, pipeline agreements, claims and defense against pipelines, as well as in the defense of pipeline regulatory and environmental permits.
He provides seamless representation to clients at every step — from pre-trial strategy development and presentation of arguments before judges and juries, through trial verdict and subsequent appeals — thereby eliminating unnecessary handoffs. Jimmie also has unparalleled experience in administrative law and handles a broad spectrum of state and local administrative matters before various boards, commissions, and administrative agencies such as the Louisiana Departments of Environmental Quality, Natural Resources, and Revenue and Taxation, as well as the Alcohol and Tobacco Commissioner and the Public Service Commission.
Jimmie often provides technical testimony before the Louisiana state legislature and various local legislative bodies, such as municipal councils and parish police juries, on behalf of his clients. He has represented major solid and hazardous waste collection and disposal companies in Louisiana, regularly handling the regulatory aspects of the Louisiana operations, including permitting and enforcement actions, as well as litigation involving such activities in the state. Jimmie also has represented industrial facilities in claims relating to emissions from such facilities.
