Lisa Futrell is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. She focuses on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters.
Lisa Futrell has practiced in the areas of bankruptcy, insolvency, and financial restructuring for more than 35 years. The scope of her practice includes the representation of creditors, debtors, trustees, and official and ad hoc committees in Chapter 11 cases, a foreign representative in bankruptcy cases, adversary proceedings, out of court restructurings and forbearances, asset sales and purchases, and state and federal court litigation involving the rights of creditors and debtors.
Since 1999, Lisa has been a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, where she currently serves as Chair of the Distinguished Student Committee, and recently served on the Board of Regents as the representative of the Fifth Circuit. She served as past chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association's Advisory Commission for Bankruptcy Specialization and has qualified to testify as an expert witness in federal court in the fields of bankruptcy and the rights of creditors and debtors.
A former member of the Jones Walker board of directors, Lisa serves currently as co-chair of the firm's Committee on Practice Standards. She also serves on the Lawyer Disciplinary Committee for the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
